"31 YEARS OF DANCE EXCELLENCE"
Kohl Academy of Performing Arts is proud to offer specialized courses for advanced dance students aspiring to pursue a dance related career, and who are interested in earning their certification from Dance Masters of America.
The training programs require student to be enrolled in ballet, tap, and jazz classes and be a dance company member in good standing. The student teacher classes (determined by age) include a study of dance history, dance notation, studio management, and choreography. There is also on the job training in various levels of classes. Since the training programs are based on the Dance Maters of America syllabus, students are prepared to attend the DMA Training School in Buffalo, New York. There they can elect to take the DMA exam to receive their teacher certification.
Another program option at KAPA is to audit lower level classes as a student demonstrator. This option is at the discretion of the teacher.
